Today Class 5 enjoyed a trip to the Space Centre. We spent time investigating the museum learning about space travel and our solar system. We had the opportunity to experience: ‘micro-navigating’ space equipment; mining for moon rocks; and how to keep a space station and different areas of long-term life support running. We also learnt about the solar system itself including the planets, stars and other objects that might be found in space.
In the afternoon, we had the opportunity to complete a ‘Mars Rover Challenge’ from ‘mission control’. We needed to program our Mars Rovers to explore terrains and protect itself from dangers using sensors.
