Literacy

Plan Work to be sent via DOJO
  1. Recap story and learning about the season: winter.
  2. Discuss what instructions are and why we need them. Give examples of what we might need instructions for E.g. playing a new game / baking a cake etc.
  3. Write instructions for getting dressed to go outside in winter. Remember to discuss what you will need as well as an appropriate order. You may want to role-play/act it out to help encourage the children to remember the sentences.
Use the instructions worksheet or write your own sentences.

The following sentences should be used:
    - Go and get a hat.
    - Put on the hat.
    - Fetch a scarf.
    - Wrap the scarf around your neck.

Remember, the children should spell our ph2 tricky words correctly (in red font) but they need to sound out the other words so they may not spell them correctly. However, these should be phonetical e.g:

               - Go and get a hat
               - Put on the hat.
               - Fetch a scof.
               - Rap the scof arand yur neck.

Remind children to segment and blend, to use finger spaces and a full stop. Also encourage the use of a capital.
